ZitatOK, take your silicone and run a small bead about 1" from the rim all the way around on the underneath of the head. Take a putty knife or even a credit card or the likes and smooth it out so it's about 1/16th of an inch thick and about an inch wide. Wipe off any overage and let it dry. Then put it on your drum and test it, if you want more control add a little more, less and simply scrape a bit off. You really don't see it at all if you do it right and it makes for the ultimate in head control. If you desire a dryer sound from the reso try the same with only half the head or drill 1/32nd inch holes at 2-3 inch intervals all the way around the head 1 inch from the rim. I'm working on a patent right now for a drumhead system that utilizes this technique with the greatest ease. Enjoy and tell me how you like it!
